Oh wow! I could hardly believe my eyes as I read this blog. I think we were separated at birth. How many times have I put my husband through the same thing in pursuit of priceless junque?! The mirror is so fabulous I can hardly believe it. So glad I found your blog. Thanks for a really fun read!

Your post sounds like things I’ve done for far less interesting things, so I giggled the entire time reading. Fantastic mirror, I think it looks fabulous just sitting there. šŸ™‚

I stumbled upon your blog yesterday after googling Victorian renovations. This post literally made me laugh out loud several times and GASP when I scrolled down to see the mirror reveal. I paused before scrolling to see it afraid it would be crap. Boy was I surprised! As surprised as you much have been! I am a lover of anything related to Victorian/antebellum/historical/salvaged/or just pure old junk. None of my friends “get it”, so guess I’ll just have to keep reading your blog!

So amazing! I started at Hookedonhouses and could not resist a peek under that tarp. I felt immense peace to see it in your living room, like I was home. Some things just can not be explained. Congrats..

I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to just read this post. I think you have helped me feel sane again! The looks from my husband, the SILENCE… you hit the nail on the head! My experiences exactly. One other habit that drives me nuts. Every time we’re in the car and I say, “Oh look! Tag sale,” he pretends he didn’t hear/see and I SWEAR his foot depresses the accelerator ever-so-slightly… and then about a mile later he says, “Oh, did you want to go to it? Should I turn around NOW?” Wow. Anyway, loved the post. Sent it to DH, and I’m sure he’ll appreciate it, too.

I am not at all surprised that mine is the five hundred and seventeenth comment because this is the best post in the history of interior design blogging. The end.
    And yours truly,
    Phyllis

What other blogger gets 517 comments on one post? And most of us repeat the theme…..we love you, we miss you when you’re away from us, we are your friends and fans. If that doesn’t raise your self esteem, validate you in all you do, and make you queen of all bloggers, what would?! Others should bow to you. Get a crown. Or a tiara. That’s more sparkly and shiny.

I just wanted to say that my fiance directed me to your post about the mirror because I did the same thing to him last weekend with an old wooden card catalog. “What are you going to DO with it?” he asked. I just had to stare at him because I couldn’t understand the question.

And I’m so glad to find people (soul trolls? love it!) who GET that!

(My card catalog is now a sideboard in my dining room.)

Oh, how I’d love a card catalog. I don’t understand the question either. It’s what my husband would ask.
