Wonderful mirror and terrific bargain. I started browing your other posts and I’m now sipping away at my tea and settling in for a morning of very enjoyable reading. I’m a member of the “incredibly chic, antique and chippy -amazing-finds” club … love the treasure hunt and so glad the outdoor sale season has finally kicked in. I was getting feverish. Love your posts. I found a delightful treasure here.

HOLY MOLY!! That is one heck of a find. I can see why you HAD to have it and and and then I see the pix with the a matching smaller version in the hall. Destiny. It was your mirror ‘destiny’ to get that.

I think we are soulmates. Except my husband reaffirmed his position as mine when, after helping me move an antique sideboard into our dining room today (across the table from another one) he drain, and I quote, “Now you can go shopping for stuff to put in it” I love that man.

And thus we now have confirmation as to why men live shorter lives than women…

My wife sent this article to me. I initially rolled my eyes and thought “great, another mommy blog”, but I was mistaken, this is hilarious. You and your husband should have your own sitcom. haha0

I am still flabbergasted that you only paid $280.00 dollars for it!! It is stunning! Looking at a mirror that size to buy, I’ve seen plain ones for more than that! Good find! God bless!

Wow! What a fabulous find. My friend did something similar looking to remodel her home accurately for old Florida. She had a beautiful old fireplace mantel.

Your mirror troll needs to meet my crafting goblin. I think they would get along.

I must tell you I very rarely leave a comment. But you my dear are hilarious and a kindred soul and I just had to let you know how this story brightened my day! Thank you so much for sharing that was awesome. Please let Paul know there are others like him. He is not alone. Perhaps he and my husband can start a club. ??

Love the story about the castle mirror…..LMAO!! So similar to some of my own experiences and, yes, our friends won’t help us anymore either because they claim everything I own or buy is too damn heavy!!! Just got done renovating two Condo’s that we combined so your stories are right up my alley!!
Beautiful mirror by the way!!! Keep the enjoyable and relatable stories coming!!!

Ok, I though the wardrobe was out of this world, but the mirror deal you snagged simply defies words. A woman after my own heart! I can only guess you have a background in the dramatic arts…your viceral love of craftsmanship, artistry, and beauty, coupled with the thrill of the chase prove you are a kindred spirit.

I will look forward to seeing more of your amazing conquests down the road.

    Best,

    Stephanie

Love these mirrors. What style would you say they are because ever since I read this article I have been obsessed with finding one for myself… Gothic Egyptian revival?? Lost in the many Victorian styles.
