When it comes time to use the marble, here’s a great blog post on cleaning/restoring old marble:

I used this method with great success for an old piece I repurposed for a bathroom countertop.
Then when our tile man came, he was agreeable to cutting it to size for me with his giant wet saw.

YOU. ARE. BRILLIANT> Love your blog. That was so funny I laughed til my sides ached. WHY? Honey, you have no idea what I have hauled home on top of my sedan, sticking out of my truck, packed into my med sized car. I have carried things all by myself. I had no idea how strong I am, being kind of a big baby, pampered princessy type, that is until I go bonkers over some shabby chic, gorgeous glam thing that may or may not even fit with my decor. I have made mistakes, I accept them. They are part of life. The people who can’t accept mistakes are the ones who have issues with life right?
