I completely understand. I too have seen one of my belongings on Mad Men, in specific a pitcher on Peter’s table in the first or second season. I had a screencap for the longest time. When it came time to purge for a move I held steadfast to that pitcher. Doesn’t anyone understand? I can’t get rid of something Peter pours water from!

Please ignore my question on page 32 asking about the color yellow you used. Found it here. Your project is looking very wonderful. Cant’ wait to see what you guys do in the kitchen!

” I would have not-buyer’s remorse” – LOL – I can’t recall every deal I ever scored but I can remember all the ones I passed on and lived to regret.

I have an old house myself, and the trim upstairs is all painted. I, too, love a shiny thing, and have been repainting (for a year) all the trim gloss white. I am very happy with it as it is super easy to clean! I think you should have fought that one to the death. Shiny is best!

I think Paul doesn’t want you to have us all over because he is afraid we’ll give you more big, shiny, glittery, Narnia ideas!

You should consider the $900-1200 ottoman for $300 a “super” find. Don’t look back. You did the right thing.

If you had a costume party I would totally drive up from VA to be there, if only because I’ve never been to a costume party in my entire life. Also, I’ve only ever been trick or treating once, so if we have a costume party there should also be candy.
(PPS: in case you can’t tell from the deluge of comments, I’m reading your blog back to front. Your writing style is very enjoyable AND you have a good grasp on the usage of apostrophes.)

I don’t watch Mad Men but I want to know did you get the bench on Craigslist? I recently found Craigslist because I needed to sell all my log-cabin-friendly furniture because it’s the only way my husband will let me buy all new furniture for our new 1864 Victorian house. And then I found out I can buy furniture on Craisgslist too and I totally agree it’s almost like not spending any money at all. At least that’s the tactic I am going with.

Also, I am going to get paint mixed for each of my kids rooms and name the paints after them so they can live in infamy in Home Depot. This has been a very useful FAQ. Off to Craigslist to shop for benches….
